We were looking at the dangers of student money laundering for last week's Finance Fridays. This week we are talking about how to earn some legitimate money by encouraging your friends and family to spend money.
Many companies now try to drum up new business by asking their loyal customers to refer their friends and families to them. As an incentive the referrer and the person who is referred are given some sort of reward. This can be a straight cash payment, discount codes or money off vouchers for further purchases.
Remember as well there's no need to be wait to be asked to be referred. If you are thinking of doing business with a company who runs a referral scheme ask your friends and family if they are current customers so they can refer you. It will probably be to advantage to both of you!
Here are some of the current referral schemes available at the moment. Please note these are direct links to the companies' websites and I don't make any money from them.
BT mobile - £25 Amazon voucher for existing and new customer.
Bulb – The energy will pay £50 to the existing and new customer. It will be credited to your Bulb account but if you are in credit it will be sent to your bank account instead.
