My social
media feeds have been full of this cake this week as the country has
been getting together for the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee
Morning. I've been joining in as well and found myself five cakes
this week! It's not just Macmillan though so let's see what other
cakes have been made this month.
If you're in
a rush but still in need of cake then try out my Quick
and easy brownies. They aren't as ingredients heavy as my
standard brownies and can be mixed together in one go. After half an
hour in the oven they will be ready – perfect for an after school
treat.
My Sunday
Fruit Cake was inspired after a trip to a Lancashire market and
the purchase of some local cheese. It is a light fruit cake with a
hint of spice for flavour. Just the right cake to serve for Sunday
teatime with a slice of crumbly cheese.
There was a
table laden with homemade goodies for the Macmillan World's Biggest
Coffee Morning I attended this week. Since I have been to this venue
before I knew a lot would be needed so I turned up with five cakes –
coffee and walnut, cappuccino, strawberry ripple, vegan toffee apple
and my trusty fruit tea loaf. Within 20 minutes it looked like a
plague of locusts had been through as most of the cakes were reduced
to crumbs. It was a very successful event and £221 will now be
winging its way to Macmillan.
I'll be back
in a couple of days as the days grow colder and the evenings darker
with October's Love Cake.
