Love Cake July 2018

It was all about summer festivals and garden openings for June's Love Cake. You can see the round up here.

My garden and allotment is full of juicy, red summer berries at the moment. Some of them are sure to end up in a cake either baked in or as a jelly or jam. For us July is also the last month we pick rhubarb. For all the garden openings I have baked for this year rhubarb cakes have sold out very quickly. If you are looking to get inspired by seasonal events the 1st of July is Canada Day – get that maple syrup ready! For an all American cake stars and stripes made out of blueberries and red berries would look good. All tennis fans know that the two weeks of Wimbledon will be upon us soon and tennis cake is a traditional bake. As always you can link up whatever cake you have made.

Here's how to join in:

1. Post your photographs and description on your blog, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr or Google+ - just make sure they are for public viewing and can be seen by anyone. All photographs must be your own original image and not taken from another source. You can carefully style your photos or take a quick snap on your mobile – either is fine!
