We were in Manchester for last week's Sunday Snap of The Code Breaker. I asked you who the statue was of and the answer is
Alan Turing
Cracking the code with the right answer were Cheryl, Kara, Anne, Thrift Deluxe and Soma.
We're staying in Manchester for this week's Sunday Snap with a visit to the city's Museum of Science and Industry. On 18th June 2016 this Soyuz TMA-19M descent module landed in Kazakhstan. The journey took over four hours and the module's outer surface was heated to more than 1,500°C. Previously on 15th December 2015 it had sent its British occupant to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Principia mission. It was named after Isaac Newton's text Naturalis Principia Mathematica which described the principal laws of motion and gravity physics.
During his six month stay on the ISS he performed more than 30 scientific experiments for the European Space Agency (ESA) plus other research activities for partner agencies. While aboard the ISS he had to undertake the first spacewalk outside the ISS by a British astronaut. This was to replace a faulty sequential shunt unit on the ISS's solar rays. Another one of his activities was to run the London Marathon on the station's treadmill. By the time he returned to Earth he had completed approximately 3,000 orbits of the Earth and covered a distance of 78 million miles. This week's question is
Which British astronaut descended back to Earth in this module?
We were joined lasted week by Susan and the rare sighting of a deer while at work. Cheryl found a cheeky selfie on her phone. In Italy Sophie found some stunning architecture. There was a light shinning from Anne in memory of Jessica. Kara has been making the most of the weather with ice creams at the beach and a trip to see the reflections at Stourbridge. It was lupin time again for Lisa. Finally, in New Zealand Betty photographed her colourful blooms before the winter storm arrived.

We saw this at the Science Museum, it doesn't look very comfy, does it? - It was Tim Peake :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few people see this. It is great. I am sure it's Tim Peake. I'd love to see this x
