It's been a quiet month for
September's Love Cake. I guess everyone has been busy picking and
preserving their autumn fruits. We do have cake to share round so
this is what has been baked for this month's theme of Jamming.
A kitchen cupboard clear out
for Elizabeth at Elizabeth's
Kitchen Diary led to the discovery of a forgotten jar of rose
jam. With a selection of other ingredients plucked from the depths of
the pantry she made a much needed Pistachio and Coconut Cake with
Rose Syrup.
We currently have a glut of
raspberries at the allotment so naturally some of them have been made
into jars of jam. Along with this year's redcurrant and blackcurrant
jellies we now have a glut of fruit preserves! To use some of them up
I made a batch of Raspberry
jam and white chocolate muffins.
I'll be back in a couple of
days with next month's theme as the days grow colder and darker...
