*KLAXON* It's Mother's Day
this Sunday! If you have if you have a mum, mother-in-law, stepmum,
grandmother or someone else you think is like a mum to you then it's
getting near last call for buying that something special. The shops
are currently awash with all things pink and pastel when it comes to
Mother's Day presents but if that's not for you there are plenty of
other options.
One thing I love to do is to
look through the catalogues that fall out of the weekend supplements.
You can trawl round the shops for hours looking for something a
little different or quirky but never find it. I do find one of the
problems is that shops do get obsessed with seasonal events. So the
Valentine's gifts in pink and red have just been cleared out to be
replaced with floral colours of Mother's Day. With this in mind I've
been looking through the selections on Qwerkity.
Going through Qwerkity
there's arguably something for all ages and tastes. There's practical
housewares and gardening gadgets, books, jewellery, clothing, and
some tasty little food gifts. If you're needing quick delivery at an
extra cost next day and designated Saturday delivery is available.
I went for The Flavour Thesaurus. As you can see online there's a very handy
star review system for each item. For The Flavour Thesaurus
there's ten reviews and it has scored 5 of 5 stars in every single
review. If you've ever wondered if one ingredient goes with another
then this is the book for you. Not only will it give you the thumbs
up when it comes to flavour combinations but also suggestions for
recipes to use them in. You may be someone who likes to try out new
tastes or just need to enliven your current repertoire. If you've had
to deal with food gluts such apples, tomatoes and courgettes you'll
be able to find new and exciting ways of using them up. All in all a
great cookbook with a difference and one you'll spend hours looking
through for new ideas.
Have you bought your
Mother's Day present yet? Do you struggle to find gifts throughout
the year?
I was sent The Flavour
Thesaurus for review purposes. All words, photographs and opinions
are my own.
