Sunday Snap – Up In The Air

Christmas may have been and gone since last week's Sunday Snap but we were looking at the Coca Cola truck with Santa on the side. I asked what year was the first Coca Cola advert with Santa in a red costume and the answer is

1931

Getting festive with the right answer was Susan.

We're off to Wales for this week's photograph. This cable car route is over a mile long each way and makes up the longest aerial cable lift in the UK. Setting off from Happy Valley Gardens just above Llandudno it has been transporting passengers to the top of this summit since 1969. At the highest point the cable car is about 80 ft from the ground. For those not daring enough to take the cable car the summit can be reached by footpath, toll road or tramway. On a clear day like the one this photograph was taken on you can see across to the Isle of Man.

We were joined last week by Susan and a meeting with Santa. Sue meanwhile has been taking in the sights of the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Maarten. Of course it has been Nativity season and Kara has been to see her little snowflake.
