We were up in West Yorkshire
for last week's Sunday
Snap. The church within the Civil War damaged church was situated
in the liquorice sweet making town of
Pontefract
Our history loving, sweet
toothed readers with the right answer last week were Susan,
Sarah, Jen
and Sam.
For this week we go from an
ancient building to a decidedly more modern structure. I took this
photograph last year whilst Mr JibberJabber was running the inaugural
Hackney Half Marathon. The Olympic Stadium was of course the focal
point of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Since the end of the Olympic
Games it has been used for several athletics events and in 2017 it
will host the World Athletics and International Paralympic Committee
(IPC) Athletics World Championships. Currently a number of 2015 Rugby
World Cup games are taking place in the stadium with the Bronze medal
match scheduled for 30 October. From the start of 2016-2017 football
season West Ham will be playing their home games here. The work you
can see that is going on is part of a new roof to allow all-weather
protection for spectators and better acoustics for music concerts.
As well the this stadium
there are a number of other sports facilities in this park such as
the VeloPark, Aquatics Centre and The Copper Box. Its full name is
far more noble than just the 'Olympic Park'. This week's question is
What is the official name
of the Olympic Park?
We were joined last week by
Snoskred's
poorly cat. Eagle-eyed Sophie
was able to capture one of the smallest wild bird about in the
Goldcrest. Kara's
was enjoying a trip on a steam train. A little miss was forever
blowing bubbles over at Susan's.
There was autumn fashion and fun for the pair at Jack's
Paper Moon. For Betty
it was a chance to show off some of New Zealand's beautiful blooms.

I'll
share my favourites with you next week and remember I do like a bit
of a tale to go with a photo but it's not a necessity!
Now anything to do with sport is something I know nothing about, I did love the Olympics at the time though. Love that they are really using the facilities today, a great asset for the UK.
