Making the most of our days

I am very conscious of the fact that come September Master JibberJabber will be locked inside school all day. At the moment he goes each morning to the nursery attached to the school which he will be attending. Come 11.30 though and it's time to be released for the afternoon before we head back down to collect Miss JibberJabber.
The weather recently has been a mixed bag. Sunny mornings on the walk to nursery and school but within a couple of hours the dark clouds come over and the rain comes down. On sunny days the walk back home involves picking daisies and blowing dandelion clocks, collecting sticks, smelling the wild yellow roses and running down the traffic-free paths. Master JibberJabber loves playing out in the garden but often it is too wet. When the sun is shining though it's through the front door and straight out the back for some afternoon fun.
We don't have a big garden but Master JibberJabber knows how to make the most of it. Down the slide and the big decision whether to play cricket or do some digging. One of Master JibberJabber's favourite gardening jobs is doing the watering but any opportunity to rake about in the soil is always taken up.
While I make lunch there's time for a quick scoot about. By this time Master JibberJabber is ravenous and food can't come quick enough. It's off up the stairs for a quick handwash. This is after an examination of his hands and then saying, “They're not dirty”.
Master JibberJabber went through a phase of 'cheese toast' everyday for lunch but now the weather is slightly warmer we're back to ham sandwiches. With the addition of some tomatoes, grapes and Petits Filous Magic Squares it makes the perfect garden lunch. After donning a superhero costume it's time to play some more before walking back to collect sister.
