The romance of February has
passed now and with it a few birthday celebrations along the way. It
was quite a bumper month for entries and it was lovely to come across
some new blogs. For a reminder of what everyone was baking have a
look at the February round up here.
For March we see the days
getting even longer and a change in the clocks at the end of month
but I have something else on my mind. On Thursday 5th
March it is World Book Day. I
thought it would be an opportunity to go back to basics and have a
look through all those cook books we have at home. Therefore the
theme this month is IT'S IN THE BOOK.
I'm asking you to look
through your books and get inspired by what you find in them. It
could be a tried and tested favourite or something completely new. If
you are sharing a recipe please be mindful of copyright but of course
feel free to adapt it for your own purposes. It may not be a recipe
that gets you baking this month. Perhaps you have read a novel that
has made you want to bake a cake be it as part of a recipe or some
super cake decoration. If you haven't got the chance to bake this
month then tell us about the baking books you have – the bigger the
pile the better! Perhaps your favourite is kept in immaculate
condition or the pages are stuck together with butter and jam! This
is the month where everyone can join in.
Here's
how to join in:
1.
Please make sure your entry conforms to this month's theme of IT'S
IN THE BOOK.
2.
Post your photographs and description on your blog, Twitter,
Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr or Google+ - just make sure
they are for public viewing and can be seen by anyone. All
photographs must be your own original image and not taken from
another source. You can carefully style your photos or take a quick
snap on your mobile – either is fine!
3.
Enter the URL (web address) of your post into the Linky at the bottom

2015 at 23:55 no more entries will be accepted.

Cake badge and link back to this blog post. Old posts are accepted
but please update them with the Love Cake badge and link. This is a

I would love to read about the recipe you have used to bake your
cake. If the recipe is not yours please respect copyright and do not
reproduce the original recipe in full but credit the source and link
back to it.
8.
You can link up your post to as many other blogging challenges you
wish if it fits the theme. A comprehensive list can be found at The

Fab idea! I have a very large pile of cookbooks which seems to breed on its own ha ha. This would be a good opportunity to try out some of my new books.
ReplyDeleteOoh yes, I have far too many cake books, yet somehow not quite enough ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat theme Ness! It is great to have an excuse to sit with a pile of books and drool over someone else's hard work! Oh..... and then of course make something yummy!!!!
